Instructions
Guides can make and decorate a card with the words of Taps to help them to learn them.
Most Units sing Evening Taps at the end of their meeting. Daylight Taps tends to be sung on camps and away days.
At the end of every meeting Guides should sing Taps. Guides stand in a circle to sing. At end of song the Leader says ‘Unit dismissed’.
The Guides should take one step into circle and two steps back to mark leaving the circle.
Evening Taps
Day is done, gone the sun
from the sea, from the hills, from the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.
Daylight Taps
Thanks and praise , for our days
‘neath the sun, ‘neath the stars, ‘neath the sky;
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.
