Description

Know the Ladybird Guide Story

Resources

 Ladybird Guide Story (in attached file)
 Pictures of ladybird without spots, rainbow, leprechaun and a ladybird with spots–one for each girl (template in attached file)
 Lollipop sticks
 Markers/crayons, glue

Instructions

Introduction
Explain to the Ladybirds how important it is to listen carefully when hearing a story. Tell them that in order to see how good they are at listening, they are going to colour in and make a sign for different words in the Ladybird Guide story. Every time the Leader says the word in the story they have to hold up their sign.

Instructions
• Get the Ladybirds to colour each picture and glue the pictures onto lollipop sticks
• Use the front and back of the lollipop stick so you will use fewer sticks and each lollipop stick will be reversible
• Explain to the Ladybirds that they need to listen carefully to the story and hold up the stick with the leprechaun on it every time they hear that word and so on

Discussion
Did they like the story? What was their favourite part and why?
