Description
Play the “Traffic Lights” game
Resources
• Red card, orange card, green card
• Music
Instructions
Introduction:
This activity teaches the Ladybirds to follow instructions to play this game depending on the colour of the card being held up. Previously when they may have played the traffic lights game, the Leader would have called out the different colours.
Instructions:
Get the Ladybirds to run around to the music.
• Red: When the Leader holds up a red card the Ladybirds must freeze
• Orange: When she holds up the orange card, they need to walk
• Green: When she holds up the green card, they must start running again
Note for Leaders:
This game can also be played with the Leader calling out the colours. Girls learn to listen and observe. The colours and voice can also be combined and the girls have to follow either the voice or the colour. For example, the girls have to follow the colour shown on the card but the Leader calls out a different number. Only play this version of the game when your Ladybirds have played this game a lot.
