Instructions

Introduction
This activity will allow your Guides an insight into a Ladybird or Brownie meeting from the Leader’s point of view and will encourage responsibility and Leadership skills.

Instructions
1. Make contact with your local Ladybird and/or Brownie Unit Leader and arrange for your Guides to help out. You will need to check what meetings the Leader would like the Guides to help at, how many Guides can help at one meeting and what she would like your Guides to do.

2. Gain permission from the Guides’ parents and ensure the Guides will be dropped off and collected from the Ladybird/Brownie meeting safely.

3. Organise your Guides into Patrols/smaller groups and assign three Ladybird/Brownie meetings to each Patrol/group.

4. Check that the Guides bring along any equipment/craft materials etc. as requested by the Ladybird/Brownie Leader.

5. When the Guides have completed their three meetings encourage them to write about their experience.

Debrief
Discuss with the Guides how Ladybird/Brownie meetings are different to a Guide meeting.

Ask the Guides how the Ladybird /Brownie ages make a difference to the meeting.
