Introduction
This activity will allow your Guides to develop skills such as time management, leadership, budgeting and teamwork.

Instructions
1. Gather together the group of Guides interested in planning and running an event for your Guide Unit.
2. Suggest events such as a cook out, a fun day, walk in the woods, visit to a local amenity.
3. Ask the group to brain storm ideas and choose one event. The group should then come up with a plan for the event including date, budget, location, equipment required, supervision required.
4. At this stage the Guide Leader should check the feasibility of the event.
5. If the event is feasible the group can put the plan in place and run the event.
6. At all stages of the event the Guide Leader should monitor the group’s progress.
7. Allow the group to run the event.
8. Congratulate the group on the success of the event.

Debrief
Discuss with the Guides what they enjoyed most about running the event and ask what they enjoyed least.
Discuss how the Guides felt the event went, what would they change? How did they work as a team?
