Instructions
Aim of Badge
Aim: To develop an awareness and appreciation of cultures other than your own
This Badge has 5 options of which 5 must be completed
Activity A
Distribute stickers to the Brownies at the opening cermony. Place them on each Brownie.
Do not enter conversation about these stickers to the Brownies. Say, they are for later.
After some time ask the Brownies to get into groups of 6, but not their Sixes.
It is probable that the Brownies will put themselves into groups by the coloured stickers.
Debrief
What happened to the 2 Brownies with no sticker?
How did they feel?
Why did the Brownies use the stickers to form groups?
Activity B
Instructions
Have the leaders perform a short role play where two leaders ignore and exclude one leader. How
do the Brownies think the excluded leader felt?
Discuss
Ensure all Brownies understand that this is a role play and not real!!!!!!!!
Reflections See attached for a sample
A reflection or story based on the theme of a meeting is a good method of opening or close a Brownie meeting.
