To see reaction that vinegar has when it comes in contact with different items

Resources

Vinegar, Jars, Steel wool, dirty coins, sodium bicarbonate, small plastic bottles (fruit shoot), balloons

Instructions

First ask the cubs what they think the reaction will be? Then place each of the items in a jar and then add the vinegar to see the reaction. Discuss the reaction with the pack.

Pour some vinegar into the plastic bottles, add a teaspoon of sodium bi-carb into a balloon, then attach the balloon on to the bottle being careful not to get any bi-carb into the bottle. Then holding the end of the balloon hold it up until the bi-carb has been poured into the bottle, then watch what happens.
