A Evening activity to get parents involved in what we do and try and get some of them to commit some of their time as helper or leaders

Resources

Lots of news paper
Lots of string

Instructions

Split to group up in to teams of cubs and parents (I perfer 3 cubs and 3 parents)
Provide each table with a share of the news papers and 2 balls of string and scissors.
Each group must build a bridge using the materials provided that will hold as much weight as possible.
The bridge must be free standing and be able to take the weight without assistance or collapse.
Examples or demos of square and diagnal lashings can be provided if needed.
