Description

Write a Scouting based poem (camp, colony/pack/troop meeting, outdoor activities etc.) but using Shakespearean language.

This activity was created to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death (23rd April 2016) but could be used on any occasion, really.

Instructions

Read your colony/pack/troop some Shakespearean examples, then encourage them to use the common words list to create their own versions.

The examples attached came from a link via the BBC Primary History site (http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/primaryhistory/famouspeople/william_shakespeare/) but exercise caution as some of the themes (particularly in Macbeth) may not be suitable for younger members.
