Description

Demonstration of Trangia parts and how it all goes together. In Patrols aim to boil water to make hot Chocolate. Ensuring safety is priority and Scouts understand what to do in an emergency if fire gets out of hand or if someone burns themselves.

Instructions

Break apart the trangia and demonstrate the purpose of each part and how it fits together. Fueling the Burner, Use of regulator. Safety re hot parts. Sealing the burner after use.
Demonstration on how to use by boiling some water.
In patrols each individual is provided with their own trangia, they are advised to take apart the trangia get used to setting up and dismantling and the importance of fire safety. Never leave trangia on its own, no messing around when using trangias. The teaching of how to get water boiling quicker, importance of ensuring the handle is never left on whilst trangia cooking. Always have a bucket of water nearby in case fire gets out of control.
Each patrol to make water boil and then safely pour into cup with hot chocolate powder and safely putting out flames

Patrol based or just with new intake whist older scouts do a game or other activity.

Washing after use (Care of burner - not washed) All alloy parts dishwasher safe.
