Guidance:
Decide which long distance path you would like to walk part of. There are many to choose from — West Highland Way, Southern Upland way, Pennine Way, Offa's Dyke, Ridgeway, Icknield Way to name but a few. Get information on your chosen footpath, including a map.
Think about:
• What transport is needed to get you to the start and get you home at the end of the walk?
• How far do you intend to walk? Most maps of the long distance footpaths are divided up into manageable sections of between 8 —20 miles for a one day walk.
