Description

Girls are often left at home (whether they should be or not) or are doing something unsupervised and need to know what to do in different situations. This activity will help them consider their options in various situations and hear other girls ideas.

Clause: Show you know what to do if someone comes to the door while mum or dad are in the shower

Example Scenarios:

Scenario:
You are at home with your younger sister and father (or mother). Your father goes to have a shower while you and your sister are playing a board game together. Someone knocks on the door.
Discuss what you should do, then what you shouldn't do. Make sure everyone gets a turn at giving ideas.

If you were in the same situation and the person at the door says they are your parents friend would the things you do change?

Scenario:
You are at home watching tv with your mum. She says she's going to pop out to the shops for 5 minutes.

If you were in the same situation while you were in the middle of baking, would the things you do change?

Scenario:

You are at home on the internet. Someone starts talking to you online saying they know your best friend, they seem nice.
Discuss what you should do, then what you shouldn't do. Make sure everyone gets a turn at giving ideas.

If you were in the same situation and the person started talking about where they live and asked where you live would the things you do change?

Instructions

1) Split girls into Sixers or groups (2mins)
2) Give them scenarios, discuss what you should do (5mins)
3) Discuss what you shouldn't do (5mins)
4) Have girls practice a roleplay their best idea for what you should and shouldn't do (10mins)
5) Perform ideas to the group. Let audience guess which is which after each group performs (10mins)
6) What were good/bad ideas? Does everyone agree (8mins)
