Description
Teach a song to new Brownie Guides (Cecil was a Caterpillar)
Resources
None
Instructions
which the rest of the Unit are already familiar with.
You, as a Leader, may pick the song to be taught or you could let the Brownies pick their favourite song. It is a good idea to ensure that it is a song which the Unit sings regularly e.g. on Pack Holidays, at days out.
Instructions Cecil was a Caterpillar
A sample song is included below. However any song may be used for this activity
Leader of the activity chants each line and the Pack repeat the line back
Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend,
When I last saw Cecil he was "this big", (fingers about an inch apart)
So I said "Cecil what have you been doing?" (In a squeaky voice if possible)
And he said "I've eaten a whole cabbage leaf." (In your best caterpillar voice)
Repeat replacing a whole cabbage leaf with the following.
A whole cabbage
All the cabbages in the garden
All the cabbages in the field
All the cabbages in the county
All the cabbages in the country
All the cabbages in the world
Each time your fingers/hands should be moved further apart and your "what have you been doing" should get louder
Finnish with the following verse
Cecil was a caterpillar, Cecil was my friend,
When I last saw Cecil he was "this big", (fingers about an inch apart)
So I said "Cecil what have you been doing?" (As loud as possible)
And he said "I've been sick."
