a craft excersise to help understand countour lines on a map and give a 3d visual referance to how they can impact routeplanning and map reading.

Resources

per scout:
half a roll mat,
two a4 sized maps (same map)
one a4 peice of card as a base
scissors
pritt stick
pen

Instructions

glue one map to the base board
cut the lowest level contour line on the 2nd map
draw around onto the carry mat and it cut it out and glue to the base map
cut next contour line and glue the part left from the previous contour to the foam just stuck to the base.
repeat until finished
