Some of:
Cornstarch
White glue
Vinegar
Milk
Acetone
Borax
Soluble Fibre
Glitter
Food colouring
Liquid Starch
Coffee Filter
Bowl or mug

Instructions

Cornstarch Goop
Ingredients:
1 cup cornstarch
a small amount of water
Food colouring

Add water slowly to cornstarch until the goop drips from the spoon.
The mixture will seem hard until you try to pick it up then it slides between your fingers.
If it is to liquidy add a little more cornstarch.
If the white is too boring for you add some food colouring!

Flubber
Ingredients:
large container
1 cup of water
Food colouring or glitter
white glue (PVA)
2 tsp. borax

In the container mix the water, food colouring, glitter and borax.
Then add the glue.
The more glue you add the bigger the glob will be.
Stir well.
After a minute pick up glob and mush in your hand mixing in any pockets of glue left.
If you roll it in a ball you can bounce it on the floor
but don't try to bounce it on the carpet, it picks up a lot of lint.

Glop
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup of vinegar
disposable coffee filter

Warm the half cup of milk just a little either in the microwave or on the stove.
Pour in the vinegar.
Then stir.
You will see blobs floating around in the liquid
Pour it through the coffee filter.
After the liquid has been strained through the coffee filter you will see your glop in the filter.

Slime
Ingredients/Resources:
2 mixing bowls
Warm water
PVA glue
Food colouring (4 to 8 drops)
Borax

1. Mix together 1/3 cup warm water, 1/2 cup PVA glue, food colouring. Stir thoroughly with craft stick. Set aside
2. Mix together 3/4 cup warm water and 2 teaspoons borax. Stir thoroughly with craft stick; pour into mixture one, stirring continuously
3. Remove glob from bowl and work in your hands for 2 to 3 minutes. Store in resealable plastic bag or air tight container

Stretchofoam
Ingredients:
Acetone (at least enough to fill a coffee cup half way)
styrofoam (the more you have, the more it will make)
mug

Fill the coffee mug with about a quarter inch of acetone.
Place the styrofoam in the acetone. It should fizzle. Keep adding more styrofoam until you reach a good sized blob.
You can pick it up and play with it.
Stretchofoam can be washed if you do not wish to get acetone on your hands because it may dry your hands out, but by washing it loses some of its stretchy properties.

Ectoplasm Slime
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon soluble fiber (e.g., Metamucil psyllium fiber)
8 ounces (1 cup) water
food colouring or glitter (optional)

Pour the water and fiber into a large microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave the ectoplasm on high power for 3 minutes.
Stir the ectoplasm. Return it to the microwave and heat it for another 3 minutes.
Stir the ectoplasm and check its consistency. If you want drier ectoplasm, microwave the ectoplasm another minute or two. Continue checking the ectoplasm and microwaving it until you achieve the desired consistency.
Add a drop of food colouring or some glitter if desired. You'll get an interesting effect if you incompletely mix the colouring into the ectoplasm, such as multicoloured ectoplasm.
Store the ectoplasm in a ziplock bag to prevent dehydration. The slime will last for a week or longer, as long as you keep it from drying out.

Ooey Goey Silly Putty
Ingredients:
1 cup liquid starch
2 cups white glue

Add glue to starch and mix with hands until it forms a ball.
Knead 5-10 minutes.
If it is too sticky add a little starch. If it is too runny add some glue.

Can’t buy Liquid Starch easily in New Zealand. Might be possible to make it from potatos but probably not worth the effort.

Silly Putty: Try this method from NZ site Just a Mum that uses borax - https://justamumnz.com/2014/01/19/make-your-own-silly-putty-easy-fun/

These are patrol activities in the GGNZ Guide programme, so we have the laminated recipes and a box with the substances at the hall (except the milk) and the patrol can pick which one or two they want to make, and what games they will play with it.
