Metal bowl or tray
1/2 litre methylated spirits
Bucket of water
Fill the metal bowl or tray with the salt and soak with the methylated spirits.
Stand the tray on some bricks (or other heatproof base) in a well ventilated area and light with a match.
It will burn for approximately 45 minutes.
The fumes tend to be quite strong when it stops burning - you may want to carry it outside (carefully with an oven mitt or similar)
