Aim of Badge: To explore different religious faiths from around the world.
This Badge has 5 options of which 5 must be completed.
Brownies must complete either (a) or (b) of Option 2.
Introduction
Diwali is the Hindu festival of light
The day is primarily celebrated to commemorate the return of Lord Rama from his 14 years living in exile
The day symbolises the victory of light over dark
Rangoli is an art form in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such
as coloured rice, dry flour, coloured sand or flower petals
They are often created to mark Diwali
Instructions
1. Give each Brownie a pattern
2. Give each Six a set of colours
3. Explain what Diwali is
4. Show the Pack a sample of Rangoli art
If completing a collage
1. Enlarge template to A3
2. Divide the Pack into groups of 3 to 4
3. Give each group scissors, glue and coloured papers
4. Show the Pack a sample of Rangoli art
