Instructions

In this heart and hands activity girls will think about what healthy and unhealthy relationships (friendships) are and where to go for help.
a. Break the girls into small groups and give them a two pieces of flip chart paper and pens per group.
b. On one piece of paper have the girls draw a big heart on their piece of paper
c. Inside the heart have the girls write/draw what a healthy relationship is and outside the heart write/draw what an unhealthy relationship is.
d. On the second piece of paper, ask the girls to draw a hand and write/draw inside the hand where or who they can go to for help.
e. Have the groups share and discuss their ideas.
f. Other questions:
− What feelings do you think you should experience in a healthy relationship?
− What healthy relationships have you seen? e.g. in their family and friends
− What can you do to be a good friend?
