Instructions

Aim 1. To introduce the SDG Goal 3 to Brownies, and show
how they can help achieve this goal
2. Learn about the importance of leading a healthy
lifestyle, eating a balanced diet and exercise regularly
3. To begin to bring in the international aspect of
healthcare and wellbeing

This Badge has 9 options of which the first option plus 4 others options must be completed

Road Safety

Introduction
One of the targets of Goal Three is: by 2020, halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents.
Complete Option 1 of the Interest Badge Brownie Road Safety
 Review the Safe Cross Code Song
 Explain to the Brownies that they will be going on a road safety walk so they need to be sure of how to stay safe

Instructions
• Divide the Unit into their Six and allocate at least one Adult to each Six.
• Either walk as one unit or split into small groups (Sixes are the ideal)
• Agree time to return to starting point
• When crossing roads, use the Safe Cross Code.
• As the walk progresses the group can be quizzed about road signs, road safety, and items of local interest and so on

Debrief/Discussion
When back to the start point, chat about how the Brownies stayed safe. Finish with how to be a safe passenger, cyclist etc
