Description

Indoor/hall grounds (if weather is good) based meeting, to begin the Navigator level 1 badge.
Covers three clauses of stage 1.

Instructions

1. Start with the game 'North, South, East, West' with the whole colony.
2. Play map symbol flash card game, in teams. Run as a relay, collecting a card each time, teams need to collect the cards as quickly as possible and then match the symbols and definitions.
3. Draw a map of the the local area, including the Scout hall, school, home etc.
4. If time, Beavers to work in pairs, to be given a location e.g. kitchen, gate etc. and to navigate their partner using the compass points.
