Description

Read the COLOUR its written in, NOT the Word.

Resources

A large print out of the colours or a White Board to write on or Projector/laptop
Coloured Pens in - red - blue - green - purple - yellow - orange - black - if you are going to be writing on a white board / paper etc

Instructions

Have the sheet of colours printed / written out so the Colony can read it out.
As a Colony they MUST READ THE COLOUR THE WORD IS WRITTEN IN, NOT THE WORD ITSELF.

Afterwards discuss why it is your brain wants to read the actual word and why you read it a lot slower than normal.

DOING THIS CHALLENGE IS HOW PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES CAN FEEL AND HOW DIFFICULT IT CAN BE LIVING FROM DAY TO DAY.
SOMEONE WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY, THEIR BRAIN UNDERSTANDS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, BUT ITS A STRUGGLE TO COME OUT THE RIGHT WAY.

If you cant do this activity correctly it doesn't mean you are not smart. It means that your brain wants to do something different.
