A short story which mentions noisy things such as footsteps, cars, a fire engine etc which the leader reads aloud and children make the sound of the things in the story.

Instructions

Explain that children will make the noises of the things you say when you pause
Read the story, pausing when the underlined word is read
After :-
Ask what vehicles were mentioned
Ask why Joe held hands with his mum
Talk about being careful near traffic
Ask why they need to stop, look and listen
