Engineering Bulldogs

This activity will begin to help the Guides identify different types of engineering
1. Photocopy badges (see overleaf) sufficient for each member of the Unit
2. Cut out
3. Attach safety pin with Sellotape

 One Guide is chosen to be “on” and given the description list (see overleaf)
 Designate the starting and finishing ‘safe zone lines’ at each end of the meeting room
 All other Guides are given an engineer badge to wear and go to the starting safe zone
 The “on “Guide faces the other Guides in the starting zone and calls out a description of a type of engineer
 The Guides (‘engineers’) with the matching description must now run forward and try to pass the “on” Guide to get to the ‘safe zone’ on the other side
 The first Guide caught is now ‘on’.
 Any other Guides caught are out and sit down where they are caught.
 If a description is called and a matching engineer does not run then they are out
 At the call ‘All Engineers’ Guides in the “safe zone” must run
 Guides that reach the safe zone must now swap engineer badges
 The game continues until there is one engineer left
