 Items to put in the bag that are small and reasonably heavy
Examples Bottle of water/cans/anything heavy and small

Aim of Badge To take on an engineering project – everyone can be an engineer!

This Badge has 4 options of which 4 must be completed
Option 4 has 5 sub sections of which 1 must be completed using the engineering design process

Forces Arm Cantilever (Plank)

Introduction
 The Guide Engineering Badge focuses on the practical approach to design: a primary engineering skill
 However, engineering design could be described as the practical application of scientific principles
 An understanding of these principles is critical for engineering design.
 This activity explores some of the basic principles in a fun way. Units can complete one or all activities (available on OGM) for this option.

Instructions
1. Each Guide should have a lightweight bag with handles
2. Ask them to add an object to the bag
3. Give the following instruction (see overleaf)
