Description
Power Game
Resources
Ball (e.g. tennis ball, football)
Instructions
1. Hold a ball up in the air and explain that this is a ‘Power Ball’ – whoever has the power ball is in charge of everyone else and they must all do what she says.
2. It is up to the person with the ball to decide for how long she would like to have the power – she can choose to pass it on at any time.
3. The person with the ball holds it up in the air and gives directions to the others e.g. hop around the room on one leg; do a dance; make a noise like a sheep, etc.
4. After a few orders, pass the ball to someone else either directly or by throwing it into the group for anyone to catch.
5. After about five minutes bring everyone back together in a big group and discuss.
• Did anything surprise you?
• What did it feel like to have the ‘Power Ball’?
• How did you feel about the person in power?
• What are the consequences of having/not having power?
