passing information between the six.

You can pass any sort of info you like, here we used pictures and knots.

Instructions

Get the sixes to stand in lines, spread out across the hall.
Each six has a leader at the head of the line.
The leader draws a simple object on a piece of paper and shows it to the first cub, who then whispers what they have seen to the next cub who passes it down the line and the last cub then has to draw what he is told. Points to the six who's picture best matches what the leader originally drew.
Move the cubs about, so last cub becomes the first and everyone shuffles down. then repeat the exercise.
If it goes well / you have time, you could reverse the direction so the cubs draw and the leader is the last person in the line.

Then give everyone a piece of rope, the leader shows the first cub a reef knot, The cub then has to show the next cub and so on to the end.
If all the cubs in a six tie a reef knot without help then max 10 points, if a leader has to help a cub then deduct a point from 10.

If your cubs are good at knots try a clove hitch, round turn and two half hitches (you'll need a pole / broom handle etc) and if they are brilliant why not try a bowline etc.
