Description

We used this relay game as a way of introducing safety and hazard signs for the DIY badge. It's aimed at the Scouts DIY Badge but as an activity it may be useful to teach Cubs as well (even thought the safety signs are not strictly part of their badge)

Resources

Attached sheets - one set per team - these are based on UK GSH signs

Instructions

Split the scouts into teams and have a leader at the other end of the hall. The leader places the sheet without words on a table or on the floor in front of them and keeps the other sheet (with the words) with them.

On go the first team member runs up to the leader who tells them the words for one of the pictures. The scout must identify which sign matches. If they get it right the next team member gets anothe rone to guess. If they get it wrong they next scout gets to try the sme one until someone gets it right.

First team to get all nine wins.
