Aim of Badge: To demonstrate how a group can make a decision

This Badge has two options of which two must be completed

Christmas Theme Games

Introduction
2018 marked 100 years of the introduction of voting for women
By using different methods of making decisions at meetings Ladybirds are given the opportunity to develop their independent and start growing in personal confidence
Ladybirds gain an understand of group choices, the important of having respect for what the majority of girls in the Unit want to do

The activities below focus on two methods of making decisions in the Unit

Show of Hands
Instructions
A simple question…. The Ladybirds are given the name of two games (see overleaf for examples)
A simple choice…..
Hands up! - Those who like (game one )… and
Hands up! -Those who like (game two) ……..
You can only choose one game… Leader counts the first game hands and then the second game hands. Majority (or biggest amount) is the favourite game to play

Voting using Tokens
Instructions
Using a counter to show that the majority wins
Each Ladybird is given a token.
Have three containers, with picture of chosen games
Explain Ladybirds must decide which of the following games they like best. Examples see overleaf
Each Ladybird should place her token in the container of the game she likes best.
Count the tokens to see which is the most popular game
