A4 Card mixed colours
Bio degradable drinking straws (cut into 2 or 3cm pieces)
Glue
Scissors

Make Bunting for the Promise Ceremony
Introduction:
This activity focuses on looking at the meaning of the Promise. The finish bunting can be used to decorate the venue of the Promise Ceremony.
Instructions-
Before the meeting:
1. Collect Magazines/Newspapers/Catalogues over a period of time.
2. Identify pictures of people who care for us at home and in the community (i.e. parents, grandparents, teachers, nurses, doctors, Gardai)
3. Identify pictures of nature (i.e. flowers, trees, bees, chickens, water sources)
4. Leaders may decide to cut out the pictures or allocate the task to the “Fly Ladybirds”
5. Cut A4 cards to make an A5 size rectangles for each Ladybird
6. To make triangles cut A4 card as above and then cut each A5 from corner to corner
Alternative allow the Ladybirds the choice of drawing their own pictures .
