Instructions
Tell the Beavers about the Yorkshire Rose then they can colour it in using the correct colours.
It was first used as a symbol of Yorkshire in the 1300s by the first Duke of York - his name was Edmund.
It is white because white is like light and makes us think of things being clean and full of joy.
At a battle on 1 August 1759, Yorkshiremen picked white roses from bushes near to the battlefields and they stuck the plucked white roses in their coats as a tribute to soldiers who had died. Yorkshire Day is held on this date each year.
When the rose is on the Yorkshire flag it has blue around it.
