Description
What is it like to be cared for?
What would a physically disabled or blind person experience?
Scouts will experience what it is like to be fed by a carer. Perhaps they may have an elderly relative or sibling that requires such help, this activity will help them understand what they may experience.
Resources
A sandwich or other simple food to eat.
A cold drink.
A cup / plate / cutlery.
A Blindfold, a bib / napkin.
Instructions
Scouts pair up, choosing an "A" and a "B".
Scout "A" wears a blindfold and sits on their hands.
Scout "B" sits next to scout "A" and is given a drink and some food to feed to scout "A".
Scouts try to feed scout "A" as cleanly and gently as possible.
When the food and drink is gone, scout "A" reports back on their experience.
Scouts swap.
