Snowball Games- paper and pens, chalk, tape or cones to mark floor, boxes/ buckets for snowballs.

Instructions

Ask the Cubs to arrive with a prepared Christmas joke.
The first 3 activities can be run as a whole pack, or better for resources in groups. Give points to each group for each task if you have competitive Cubs! Remember to name items that are made.
Task 1: Crackers.
Ask the Cubs to write out and decorate their joke as a cracker insert.
Roll up a piece of coloured paper with their joke, a sweet or 2, and a couple cheap trinkets inside.
If you wish you can add a snap to each one.
Tie ends with ribbons to make a cracker shape.
Decorate with stickers or pens.
Task 2: Wrapping UP Competition
Using cheap wrapping paper (as lots needed!), each group has to wrap up a present for Akela- the smallest Cub in their group! Some extra decorations could be provided and be re-used by subsequent groups.
Obviously supervision needed to check air holes left!!
Task 3: Melty the Snowman
Biscuit decorating for snack or take-home. Give each child a plate to name on the edge.
Add premixed gloopy white icing to a biscuit to make a puddle.
Add white marshmallow for snowman head- can cut base at an angle so it looks up a bit.
Add a few mini smarties to the puddle for buttons.
Use writing icing to add some face details, and bit of strawberry belt for scarf.

Each group needs to clear up their activity station for the next group.
Regroup as a Pack for-
Task 4: Snowball Games
In theirgroups, each Cub writes a game on a piece of paper that they have played with minimal equipment, then scrunches it into a snowball. Repeat with as many as they can in 5 mins. Meanwhile divide hall into equal sections with tape or cones. Collect up snowballs in a box at the back of each group's section - have a snowball fight. The team with the least balls in their section when they hear the whistle/ christmas music/ bell wins.
If you have time, you can get the winning group to read out a game each time you stop and play it! If not, just repeat the snowball fight a few times! It's a useful pack forum and you can collate them into a handy list of fave games!
Declare the winners! Maybe give a prize, maybe invite Santa!
