Taken from Scouting Magazine's "BACKWOODS COOKING". A simple 'christmassy' pudding cooked on an open fire.


Resources

Bread
Butter or magarine
Currants or sultanas
Oranges
Apples
Sugar
Aluminium foil

Instructions

Take one slice of bread per person and butter one side, laying that side down onto two layers of foil.
Prepare a mixture of dried fruit, grated orange peel, sliced apples and oranges, sugar and butter/margarine.
Spread this thickly onto the bread, place another slice on the top, and butter the top of the sandwich.
Wrap in the foil and place on embers for about 8 minutes per side.

Although not a traditional Christmas pudding recipe, it makes a very tasty dessert.
