Instructions
Aim of activity
This game underpins the role and value of Guiding as a Leader and encourages the Ladybirds to identify the leader within a group.
Introduction
Arrange the Ladybirds to sit in a circle with their hands behind their backs. Explain to the Ladybirds that one of them will have to hide while the Leader gives one of the remaining Ladybirds a star. The Ladybird with the star must lead the group by doing different motions with her hands e.g. clap your hands, clap your thighs, put your hands in the air. The Ladybird who was hiding must return to the group and tries to identify who the leader is.
Instructions
1. Initially, select one of the Ladybirds to leave the group.
2. Place the star in the hands of one of the Ladybirds.
3. The Ladybird with the star must start making motions with her hands.
4. The other Ladybirds copy the actions done by the Ladybird with the star.
5. The Ladybird hiding now returns and has three chances to try and identify the Ladybird with the star. When identified, all the other Ladybirds should shout out ‘you’re a star’.
6. Continue until each Ladybird has had a chance of being the star.
