Hashing

Description
Hashing is a running race played as a team with the aim to finish fastest.
Resources
Large green space with a network of paths such as a woodland or park. Stopwatch, running gear, several bales of sawdust, pen & paper. Sawdust can also be substituted for flour.
Instructions
Organisers go out and set a 'hash' trail for runners to follow, using sawdust markers: Each junction gets a dab of sawdust to mark the trail and ONLY the path to follow has a further SECOND dab of sawdust some distance away from the junction.
teams are started with a time interval and their start/finish time is recorded to see who completes the race fastest.
Each team has to split up at the junction to find the next correct direction indicated by the 'hash' and agree/keep good communication. The distance between the junction and the second dab of sawdust varies to increase the difficulty
