Instructions
Introduction
Meet Daisy who lives in Kenya and learn about her environment and how it might differ from and be like life for an Irish Ladybird.
Instructions
Daisy’s Story Bag
Show the Ladybirds the photos and discuss similarities and differences with their home.
Invite a Ladybird to put their hand in the Story Bag, feel an item, describe what it feels like and guess what it is. Then ask them to take out the item and name it. Invite the other Ladybirds to describe it further. Provide prompts, e.g. is it rough or smooth? Hard or soft? Repeat this for the other items.
Next tell the attached story, passing around each item as it is mentioned and encouraging the Ladybirds to describe it.
Debrief/Discussion
Invite Ladybirds to remember they have lots of sisters all round the whole world, some with homes made of bricks like ours, and some with homes like Daisy's.
