Resources
Masks – These can be made so the Beavers can wear them while watching the cartoon
Resources needed
A mask template for each Beaver (We recommend that you do not use the ‘Tiger’ mask
or the ‘Bear’ mask. These represent the ‘baddies’ in the film)
Bendy straws and sticky tape to stick to back of mask so Beavers can hold the masks to
their faces
Scissors
Cartoon –
Before introducing the film, it is always good practice to issue a health warning first. e.g
“If you feel uncomfortable about the film and want to talk to someone, that is OK, just get
up from where you are sitting and go to a leader”
The ‘Lee and Kim’s Adventure’ cartoon is an excellent ThinkUKnow resource that informs
youngsters of the possible risks on the internet, such as bullying and predators.
Resources needed
Projector
Screen
Laptop
Speakers
Sid Says… Quiz - The ‘Sid Says’ quiz is a fun way of making the Beavers think about what they
have learnt from the film and importantly know how to report anything that makes them feel
uncomfortable.
Resources needed
A3 Sid Says Yes
A3 Sid Says No
Sid Says questions
Other resources
Sid dot to dot – good as a 5 minute filler
Virtual Protector Badge – if time allows each Beaver can make their own badge, by cutting out
the template and sticking to a round piece of card. Alternatively, this template can be used with
a badge machine if you have access to one.

Online safety and Cyberbullying are difficult subjects for 6-8-year-olds to understand. By using
the idea of ‘stranger danger’, a subject they are already familiar with, helps them understand
how they can be safe online. Understanding that the person on the other computer is not always
what we expect is an important part of learning how to stay safe, and how to behave online, and
this leads to an understanding of what information we should be sharing and what we should not
be sharing. The aim of this badge is to help Beaver Scouts understand that the Internet is a
great place, but they also need to be cautious.
