Aim of Badge To learn about aircrafts, the aviation industry and the roles women play within it.
This Badge has 3 options of which all 3 must be completed.
There is a choice of activity in the third part.
Introduction
This activity aims to encourage the girls to research online and to create models using/re-using art and craft material.
Instructions
1. Print out the seat plans of three of Aer Lingus’ fleet e.g. an Airbus 330 (their largest plane), a Boeing 757 and an ATR (used for their regional services)
2. In Patrols, have the girls learn how to find a particular seat e.g. 6C; pick out their favourite seat; find the seats at the emergency exits, locate the cockpit and the toilets
3. Give each Patrol a copy of the photos of each type of plane and instruction for making a plane (see overleaf)
4. Once models are completed mark out a runway and have a race to see which goes the furthest and the highest.
