Description
Known as drop scones (in England), similar to an American style pancake. (i.e. not crepes)
Cubs make up batter from scratch and cook on gas stoves.
Resources
per six;
125g self-raising flour
22ml (1.5 tbsp) caster sugar
1 egg
150ml milk
spray oil
for the pack;
jam
honey
chocolate spread
stoves and gas cylinders
mixing bowls
whisk
fish slice
tablespoon
Instructions
Set up a bucket of water in case of burns.
Sift the flour and sugar into a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the centre of the flour and break the egg into it.
Begin whisking the egg - any sort of whisk or even a fork will do - incorporating any bits of flour from around the edge of the bowl as you do so.
Gradually add small quantities of the milk, still whisking until combined and lump free.
Spray some oil into the frying pan.
Light the stove and place the pan on to warm.
Using a tablespoon, drop a spoonful of mixture into the hot pan.
Watch until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip the pancake and cook for a further few minutes.
Once cooked, remove from pan and serve
