Instructions
Aim of Badge
To encourage you to notice your natural surroundings, wildlife and habitats. Complete 4 options to gain a badge.
Subsequent badges may be earned when you complete 4 additional options.
Instructions:
1. Give each of the Guides a tree identity sheet.
2. Ask them to write the name of ten common trees on different pages.
3. Ask them to write a few lines about each tree and how to recognise it.
4. Ask the girls to pick their favourite four trees and to research information on their twigs, fruit, bark and seedlings. They can record this information on four different pages in their note book.
5. Take the girls on a nature walk.
6. While on the nature walk, encourage the Guides to do bark rubbings of the trees they have chosen.
7. They can also take pictures of twigs etc for their records. (If the girls wish they can do this on their own.)
