Cotton debate planning sheets

Instructions

- Start with the Fairtrade quizzes to find out what Explorers know about Fairtrade and Fairtrade products and processing.
- Watch the Unravelling the Thread video
- You could ask Explorers bring in T shirts to check the labels on. What instructions and information is on the label? Where are they made? Is there any other info you think should be included.
- Depending on the number of Explorers you may hold one or two debates
- Read out the house motions and as Explorers to vote on their view
- Split the Explorers into For and Against and give them time to plan their arguments, opening statements and counterarguments
- Hold a debate: opening statements, questions from panel and opposition, vote

The debate could be done over two evenings, 1 for planning and 1 for holding the debate(s)
