Balloon Train Relay
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
Teams have to transport their balloons from one of the hall to the other, without using their hands.
Resources
For each team, one less ballon per number of Cubs in each team. i.e. for a team of four, you'd need three balloons.
It's best to have some spares though
Instructions
The Cubs have to get into their sixes, one behind the other.
Apart from the Cub at the front, they each need to take a balloon. They hold it between their front-upper chest and the back of the person in front.
Once in position, they’re not allowed to touch it with their hands.
On the word go, they have to move as a team, getting all the balloons from one end of the hall to the other, without popping / dropping them.
If a balloon does pop / drop, then the Cub needs to get closer to the Cub in fronts’ back, until they get to the other end of the hall.
Another option, is for the team to loose a point, if a balloon pops / drops. It’s up to the leader.
(If cubs are seen to hold / correct the balloon with their hands, then the whole team has to start again.)
The team to get there first wins 5 points, second 4 points etc. (This is based on 5 teams)
For the next round, the Cub in front goes to the back.
The game can be run for as many rounds as you like, just ensure you have enough balloons!
You can either use normal balloons but we have used Poundland's punch balloons with the elastic bands on - see attached picture. The Cubs loved this and got to take them home afterwards. You just need a lot of puff to blow them up! You can also get these from amazon
