Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK

Description

Explain why people have passports and design a pretend passport (Design a Passport)

Resources

 Template of passport, one for each Brownie
 Map of the world/globe (optional)
 Colouring supplies

Instructions

Aim of Badge:
To encourage an interest in foreign travel.

Introduction:
People have to get a passport to be able to travel around the world. Passports tell everyone certain details about the person who the passport belongs to, like what country they come from, their name and their age. You can also get a stamp in your passport to show people what countries you have travelled to.

Instructions
1. Discuss the reasons as to why people might need a passport. When do you use a passport?
2. Hand out a template to each Brownie and colouring supplies to each Six.
3. The Brownies fill in their pretend Brownie passport details.
4. In the world stamps section, if you are using a globe or map of the world you can allow the Brownies to find the names of different countries and insert them here. Alternatively, they can colour world flags in the spaces or make up imaginary country names.
