Description

A planed night looking at the following parts of the athletics badge:
-Clothing and safety
-Warm-up
-Throwing
-Jumping

(This program has a second part to fully complete the ATHLETICS BADGE 'Physical - Athletics Badge'
Note: sports suitable activity wear and water bottle needed


Resources

Sand pit and/or safe jumping area
4x footballs
6x tennis balls
4x big comes
2x small cones
tape measure
Score sheet (find attached)
Rake (only applicable if using sand pit)

Instructions

Flag and inspection (15 minuets)
Safety about sports (Information sheet attached below) (10 minuets)
Walk to park/field area (5 minuets)
Warm up: short run around football field, different types of stretches, passing a ball in a small circle trying not to drop the ball (15 minuets)

GROUP ACTIVITIES START (2x groups needed)

GROUP ONE
Throwing activities - 4 members of the first group line up and try to throw a tennis ball as far as they can, 1st time under arm, 2nd time over arm. Check to see who threw their ball the furthest! While this goes on the rest of the group play rounders (Pull 4 people out the game at a time (20 minuets)

GROUP TWO
Long jump competition - 2 people line up next to each other and attempt to see who can do the longest flat footed jump (place a cone at the furthest jump), then again but a running jump. 1x person measuring the jump, 1x marking down the lengths/distance, 1x cone placer on land point, 1x sand flatterer (ROTATE THESE JOBS AFTER EACH JUMPER) (20 minuets)

SWAP AROUND THE GROUPS EVERY 20 MINUETS (total 40 minuets)

All participate in rounders (10 minuets)
Walk back (5 minuets)
Flag (5 minuets)

TOTAL TIME = 1 hour 45 minuets
