Description

Scouts try to outrun a water balloon being passed around a circle. If they lose they get hit by the balloon.

Resources

At least twice as many balloons as you have children,

Instructions

Form the children into a circle. They should be standing two arm lengths apart.
A leader or other, stands in the centre with a bucket full of water balloons.
Inform the children:
When a balloon is thrown to you, 'the runner', you must be catch it and pass it, without dropping it, to the person on your left. You then run around the outside of the circle, in a clockwise direction, as fast as a you can to get back to your place.
Meanwhile the person with the balloon passes or throws to the next on their left, and so on, to try and beat the runner.
If the balloon reaches the person who was standing on the right-side of the runner, before the runner finishes, they can throw the balloon at the runner.
If the runner beats the balloon, then the person last holding the balloon has it thrown at them.
The game starts
