Description

Demonstrate how to use the Trangia. Cook something to eat.

Resources

Trangias, fuel, matches/lighter, eggs, ham slices, cheese, cheese grater, zip lock sandwich bags, plates/bowls.

Instructions

In small groups - cut/tear ham slices into smaller pieces, grate cheese and break egg into sandwich bag (place bag in a bowl or mug to help Cubs get egg into the bag!) Shake the bag with the egg in. This will beat the egg. Put in torn up ham and grated cheese. Seal bag carefully.

Outside if possible - demonstrate how to use Trangia safely.

Groups boil up water suing Trangia. Once boiling pop the sandwich bag into the water for 5 minutes. Explain that the bag will probably inflate but should hopefully not burst. Remove bag and carefully tip the egg onto plate. Eat. Wash and dry equipment used/dirty.
