Description

A Wide Game, the challenge is for Beavers to find the photographed objects in their Urban setting and mark their location on the map.

Resources

1) Suitably detailed map of Urban area with marked game area and a grid
2) Photographs of objects \ signs \ features etc that can be found in the game area

Instructions

1) Beaver Colony is split into teams of manageable size.
2) Each team is given a map of the game area, and photographs of the objects to be found. In an Urban setting these could be:
a) Street Signs
b) Street names
c) Building foundation stones
d) House numbers
e) Items in shop windows etc.
3) Each team (which stays together working as a team) is then given a fixed amount of time to find as many of the objects as they can. For each object they find they need to write the 4-figure grid reference.
4) They get a point for each object they find, and a second point if they write the correct grid reference.
Our experience 60 minutes for 15 off objects to find worked well.
