AIRCRAFT SPOTTING 1
Report Copyright Infringement View in OSM UK
Description
This test should be enough so that if a SCOUT can pass the majority of questions without looking at any research material they should be eligible for the Aircraft Spotting 1 badge.
Resources
Printer, reference material, paper, pen
I have included reference material for you to print off and hang up in your hall, such as a list of the world Air Force roundels, and a poster for all of the Aircraft the RNZAF has had from 1937 to 2017
(note: this was scanned in 4 A4 sheets in .JPG format).
All of the Aircraft in the test are on the poster, and it still is within the bounds for the badge as I chose 2 Aircraft which are primarily used for civilian purposes such as the 757 and the A109. With others such as the C-130 and UH-1H used primarily for Military, but do have civilian uses, the P3, which was designed as an airliner (the Lockheed Electra) and finally the Aermacci MB339 which has a civilian user (Draken international) but is a purpose built military plane, with Draken international using them for training the USAF.
Instructions
1. Print off 1 sheet per SCOUT wishing to complete the badge, This can be done individually or as a group, though if as a group they may not qualify for the badge.
2. Get each SCOUT to complete as much as they can without reference material, if they can get roughly 4/6 aircraft, 6/10 Roundels, and all of the main components in my opinion they would have enough for the badge. Otherwise it would be up to your discretion as to whether or not they achieve the badge.
3. Mark the papers and refer above. If SCOUTS don't have the knowledge, you could give them the study documents attached to see if they can work it out from there.
