Haka dance information: -
The haka is a dance first done by the Māori people in New Zealand.
They were the first people to live there, arriving on boats from nearby islands in the 1300s.
We call it a dance but it is sometimes called a 'challenge' as it was often done by warriors before battle.
There are big, fast movements and stamping of the feet with shouts to match.
It is also performed to welcome important guests, or for great achievements, occasions or funerals.
If you watch rugby, you will see the New Zealand team doing this before a match.
Dance instructions: -
Look on YouTube at the All Blacks performing. There are also step-by-step guides online of the actions in stick people.
