A project for small groups of cubs to build using sticks and rubber bands

Resources

A sack of kindling
Rubber bands - several sizes
Other craft bits - paint, paper, string or wool - whatever is in the cupboard

Instructions

Demonstrate ways bands can be used to attach sticks to one another. Show how to work together (one person holding, one tying) and talk about sharing jobs within the project.

Working in small groups - no more than 4, plan and build one of the following:
- Something very tall
- A bridge
- Something strong (Strong enough to hold a bag of flour or a billy can)
- Something attractive (a mini city, a scene from a story, a tree, a creature)
- Something useful

The only resources are sticks and rubber bands, but you can decorate it with art supplies in the cupboard as long as all mess is cleared away before the timer goes off!
